Kasia's photos have that dreamy quality that so many of us love about fillm photography. Her portfolio is nostaligic and brings about a breeze on my arms and the smell of Spring in the air. Unike many of the Film Photographers I have sought out for this element of my website, I found Kasia on Twitter and have been following her for a few weeks. Follow her here: @ITSCADDS or if you are an Instagram fiend like myself, check out her work here : @CADDS.
While exploring the world of Analogue Photography it is evident that men seem to be dominating this field so I feel it is really positive to see such an amazing Female Film Fotographer (I know I know, but look at how great it looks!?). By all means, other FFF's out there holla at me and lets get networking! But for now, lets get to the good bit:
"Kasia, tell me about yourself..."

"My name is Kasia Górska, I come from Poland, which is a country located in central Europe. I’m a full time dentistry student, year four out of five. I would say what I study does not really tell what kind of a person I am. I hope my photography does."
When did you first realise you loved film photography?
"I think it was after I got my first fully working analog camera and finally managed to get some nice photos taken with it. The previous tries were horrific. I seriously don’t know why I didn’t just give it up back then, because it was all a mess with my initial analog camera. But as soon as I had my Praktica, the film love just grew from that moment on."
What camera do you shoot on? What cameras do you own?
"Ever since the beginning of 2015 I have been shooting with Canon AE-1 Program, which I managed to get for myself from an Etsy store that some pretty amazing couple of film lovers run. They encouraged me to try it, even gave me a discount!
"Apart from that, I still have my beloved Praktica MTL 3 (It is just such a great camera for beginners, you know. It really taught me my ways!). I used to shoot with two Zenits also, but they broke down after a roll or two. You see, I am pretty unlucky when it comes to Zenits, so I guess we are not meant to be."
Is there a camera you would love to try?
"Yes! I have been dreaming about medium format for such a long time now. Of course I’d want a Hasselblad, because of its stunning body and amazing Zeiss lenses. I cannot stop looking at the photos other people produce with their Hassies. Recently I began considering a Pentacon. Generally speaking, I would love to try 120mm in the future. Otherwise I am pretty happily settled with my Canon."
What is the best advice given to you with regards to film photography?
"I think the best advice would be to always carry a camera with me. It is not strictly film related, it applies to all kinds of photography. Sometimes I regret it so terribly when I find myself not listening to it!"
Where is your local film haunt? Do you get a favourite shop to dev or do you do it yourself?
"I have been living between two cities for the past four years, so I was pretty luck to have found a decent photo lab in each of them. One even considers me their regular and gives me some perks like discounts. That's for developing and scanning. When it comes to stocking up, I always pick to do it online. I also have my favourite online sellers that always have the stuff I want, so it all doesn’t change much."
What is your favourite subject to take photos of? Why?
"Hands, casual activities, my friends, strangers. Those sum it up, I think. Nature is pretty beautiful too. It is hard to say why. I love to find beauty in the smallest and most usual of things. It is just what my hearts feels the most, that’s why I shoot this way."
Do you shoot on digital? If so, when do you choose to shoot on film and when do you decide on digital?
"I don’t shoot digital other than my iPad taking pictures of my breakfast from time to time for Instagram purposes. Film is always my go to whenever I am departing for holidays where I predict to capture breathtaking views. I know it will not disappoint when it comes to light, colors and memory preservation."
What photo hosting site do you like the most? (pinterest/instagram/flickr etc) Why?
"I used to have Flickr, but it never grew on me to upload my photos there. I am all way an Instagram kind of girl. I also run a film photography blog, which is sort of my online diary." [ dippedinrococo.blogspot ]
What is the best and the worst thing about film?
"Best is the feeling to pick up your developed negatives. That feeling never gets old! Worst would be pricing which only goes higher and higher. Film is a big investment. I lost count of how much I have spent on it over the years."
Which photographer would you say has inspired you the most?
"Liis Klammer, I found her analog photos on Flickr about three or four years ago and that’s when I knew I just need to start making my own. Create stories just like she does.
"Before I go, I would love everyone to start tagging their film photos with #analoguelove - this is a tag I always browse. Share your film works using this tag, I’d love to see them!"
